Jiu-jitsu can be translated as "soft art",
or even more correctly as "smooth technique". It is a Japanese self-defense art that allows one to control or eliminate an attacker in a few seconds. Its practitioner is called a jiujitsuka . As a budo art, jiujitsu is suitable for all ages. In jiu-jitsu one learns not only to defend oneself against various attacks, but also to perform various attacking techniques such as atemi (punching and kicking), clamps, pressure points and strangles.
Jiujitsu - not a martial art, but a martial art.
Jiujitsu is in principle not a sport, although there is a sporting version of it that is often simply called jiujitsu , which has the fighting system , groundfight , duo system and Random Attacks . A martial art is bound by rules, jiu-jitsu, on the other hand, is a fighting art par excellence, based on the attack of an opponent from all conceivable positions and from various fighting disciplines. This implies a defense that uses the most appropriate techniques against that attack. The fact that this can be accompanied by techniques that are considered unsportsmanlike and unfair in regular martial arts characterizes jiu-jitsu. After all, the moment of defense and the way in which it is defended is the result of the opponent's attack, after all, at that moment he or she takes the risk and tries to damage the integrity of the attacked person.
